The Class 70/C-19 locomotive design is a perfect fit for freelancers who appreciate smaller power to serve their own HOn3 railroads. The configuration of these engines was very similar to other Baldwin consolidations seen around and after the turn of the century, therefore it will be easy to adapt the painted/unlettered versions to your favorite road, be it real or imagined.
Blackstone Models is excited to announce our release of a decidedly unique locomotive. While not based on a specific prototype, this “Diamond Stack” Class 70 type locomotive is a wonderful candidate for your freelance railroad, especially if you appreciate its early era appearance. As built, this little 2-8-0 can represent your locomotive fleet in an era when electric headlights were new, yet it clings to its Baldwin roots, sporting the old style smokestack. Some modelers may even take delight in “kit bashing” this consolidation for a look that reflects your personal tastes.

Features:
This release of our painted/unlettered “later” style locomotive brings back some of the locomotive details found in our first release version, with a few new twists. This version includes the later “flat plate” smokebox front along with the straight-sided tender style and wood paneled cab sides. These subtle detail changes will make this loco a nice complement to contrast the appearance of our first Painted/Unlettered “Later” version.
